There’s something sacred about the stillness that settles over the Canadian Shield—those quiet moments when the world feels paused and the landscape holds you, just as it is. Stillness and Stones is my way of capturing that feeling.
The soft, timeworn rocks in this piece are painted in gentle purples and warm tones, shaped by centuries of wind and water. They lead your eyes toward the pines—strong, rooted, and quietly resilient—framed by a dreamy sky that shifts between blush pink and soft blues, like a held breath at sunset.
This piece was inspired by places that feel both powerful and peaceful, where the silence speaks just as loudly as the scenery. I hope it brings that same sense of grounding and calm to whoever stands in front of it.
Also - it was my first piece ever created in my new outside summer studio!
